Valentino, for the first time, staged their fashion show in Shanghai using some local models as well as some known faces. This was to celebrate the opening of their new store in shanghai, the show was streamed live onine for the global market to see, but designs seen on the catwalk wont be in westerns stores until months later.
I think one of the ideas behind keeping the show to a limited colour palette was to put more emphasis on the shapes, patterns and material techniques of the garments. This was reflected in the simple styling.
We saw a variety of different materials from chiffon and lace to leather and wool. the collection represented the whole wardrobe, with shirts, skirts, trousers underwear and daywear-dresses through to cocktail dresses and gowns. It also stuck to the colour palette with accessory's like bags shoes headbands.
