Club to Catwalk-V&A Exhibition

I traveled to London to see an exhibition at the V&A called Club to catwalk. its focus was 80's fashion wear and how it impacted clothes design of club wear in the London club scene. It featured big name designers like Galliano, Westwood, and Betty Jackson and brands like Levi.





I went to visit the Installation with an open mind about the 80's, I knew it was a time of revolutionary clothes design but I didn't realize just how groundbreaking it was for the fashion industry. Watching the catwalks i saw just how animated and fun fashion was, people didn't just walk down a catwalk they danced down it.







 I learned that the 80's was also a revolutionary time for risque provocative dressing and cross-dressing . Homosexuality was finally recognized as a common and acceptable thing and there were exclusive in london devoted to this market. With the 80's came camp.
